As a former 
VC associate working with founders in SG, India, Indonesia, my job was to source founders early, earn meetings and figure out what was real. Then synthesize what I learned into memos, pitches that drive investment decisions. 
Similar to when I hosted my 
Rice People Podcast. I had long-form convos with interesting people across SEA: founders, a funeral director rethinking tradition, a coding non-profit in Cambodia, an indie game builder in Manila. Every episode meant cold / warm outreach then making sure we ask the right questions to ensure it's worthwhile for the guest and listeners.
I turn what I learn into stories @adilatwork. From Dyson farms to election policy. Taking niche complicated things and making it land with a broad audience.
And I build community in-person, not just online. @half.baked.home started as a lifestyle account that became a reason for strangers to meet. Evenings where engineers sit beside artists, outdoor content creators. And even creative fairs.

But this role isn't about my story, it's about finding other people's. So here's a couple folks that I've come across in the region using AI in what might be interesting ways and spaces:

Less known but is among Singapore's most AI-forward principals, running hackathons that get his own teachers building prototypes for classroom productivity and student learning, well ahead of any top-down mandate or strategy.

Still in school, she runs her parents' provision shop with the help of AI to reduce her workload and to balance both. Some of the tasks include sorting 8,000-plus uncategorized products from the old point-of-sale system into the new one, and cutting five days of manual work down to two.

His students were already using the tools he built even in the early days of ChatGPT, well before any school mandate: chemistry question banks and diagrams, plus a retrieval tool that points them straight to the right notes and videos.
